This week I talk to Bob Wudeck about how BenQ is working with today’s custom integrator and what dealer programs the company has in place.

Maureen Jenson: So how exactly are these products meeting the needs of today’s custom integrator?

Bob Wudeck: We are committed to providing differentiation for the integrator. For example, our projector lineup utilizes the Texas Instrument DLP chip – the same core technology used in a digital cinema today. With it, integrators can be assured that it will deliver amazing cinematic color that will never fade and will perform for years. We’re also one of the only brands that uses the unique Philips ColorSpark LED technology, which combines a super long-lasting LED light source with DLP technology. Every BenQ product has its own unique story, but they all deliver incredible quality and value to the end-user.

MJ: Where are you currently in the custom installation marketplace? Are BenQ projectors available through distribution?

BW: We’re in a strong position in the custom installation marketplace. Our projectors give integrators a platform that’s highly reliable and are available through our preferred distributors, including ADI, AVAD, SnapAV, Starin, and Synnex.

MJ: What dealer programs do you have in place?

BW: For our high-end cinema projector models, our dealer margins are significantly above the industry average. We also offer support and training through webinars as well as through training via our partners nationwide.

MJ: What other solutions do you offer for the commercial space?

BW: BenQ is a market leader in monitors, with a number of options used in commercial and medical applications, color-specific applications, and digital signage. We also are a market leader in interactive flat panel displays, which are ideal solutions for education, wayfinding, and digital signage applications.

MJ: While the trend seems to be away from dedicated theater rooms, how do you see the future of BenQ? Where do you see the future of display technology?

BW: As long as Hollywood produces movies designed around a projector, end-users will keep looking for high-quality projectors that will replicate that unique experience at home. BenQ delivers that, and as conference rooms and other applications increase in collaboration and interactivity, our broad selection of display products will address those requirements. Because of our unique market leadership in both projectors and flat panels, BenQ has the ability to grow as customers evolve into 2019 and beyond.
