I recently talked to AudioQuest President Rafael Nevares about the recent promotions of two AudioQuest veterans to manage and lead the company’s highly effective and talented sales force into the future.
Maureen Jenson: For those readers who have been in a cave for the past few decades, give us a brief overview of AudioQuest.
Rafael Nevares: The Quest Group, dba AudioQuest, is the largest cable supplier to the high-end specialist market, and we have been continuously evolving since our inception almost 40 years ago. Our products are sold through thousands of retailers in over sixty countries. AudioQuest focuses on providing surprising value and exceptional performance in every product we offer.
MJ: You’ve just announced the promotion of both Shaun Schuetz and Jim Scatena from within the ranks of the company; sounds like AudioQuest is on the move.
RN: Jim and Shaun will have my full support, along with that of the entire AQ organization. Together I have no doubt that we’ll accomplish great things.
MJ: Tell us a little about Shaun and his new position.
RN: Over the last 14 years, Shaun has worked his way up through the ranks of the industry, beginning with an auspicious track record at Best Buy, and then at Magnolia. His insightful focus on sales and sales management forms the foundation for having earned his new position. Firsthand experience on the retail sales floor, on through promotions to greater levels of responsibility within AudioQuest, have built the consummate, humble professional that is Shaun Schuetz today. His selfless, team-oriented leadership style make us at AudioQuest extremely proud to have him in this important position.
AudioQuest has appointed Shaun Schuetz as Vice President Sales, Americas, to preside over one of the strongest sales teams in the performance audio industry in the Americas. As such, he will be supporting and strengthening an already practiced and proficient group of sales professionals. He will continue to build and foster the relationships that have made AudioQuest such a successful partner to so many specialty retailers throughout the Americas and beyond.
MJ: How about Jim and his new position? What is his background and goals for AudioQuest?
RN: Jim has been a charismatic sales professional in the performance audio sector for over 18 years, having built an extensive history of accomplishments at industry giants such as B&W and SpeakerCraft. This is Jim’s second well-earned promotion while at AudioQuest — his talent, capabilities and hard work continue to earn him great appreciation and deserved recognition. His dynamic and effective leadership style, combined with a head for strategic partnerships, make him the ideal choice for this vital and essential role at AudioQuest.
With its growing presence in large retailers and with major accounts such as Best Buy, Conn’s Control4 and Dish Network, AudioQuest saw a need for two sales leaders. Jim Scatena, a skilled and expert hand when it comes to supporting and developing the strength of key account relationships, will be responsible for nurturing and for acquiring national accounts in his new position as Director, National Accounts. Under his steady guidance, these partnerships will continue to flourish and multiply. We are truly excited about the future of AudioQuest with these great people in key roles.
