I recently talked to Ryan Prentice Managing Partner of Cleerline Technology Group about Cleerline products, COVID-19 and dealer support! Part 2 (Part 1 here.)

 

 

MJ: What other products do you offer your dealers besides Cleerline SSF fiber optic products?

RP: Aside from the Cable and Connectors, Cleerline SSF offers a complete end-to-end solution for our customers. We provide Cables, Connectors, Tools and Test Equipment, Enclosures, Patch Cables, and even Active Optical HDMI Cables that incorporate 4 strands of our fiber inside.

MJ: Do you feel that integrators truly understand the business opportunities in branching out with Cleerline?

RP: Overall, the response has been great. We believe there is still a lot of education required to get everyone on board. Fortunately, bandwidth is becoming more and more important every day, and while copper still works, it presents many limitations that are not issues for fiber optics.

 

MJ: Do you think COVID19 can have an upside for our industry? How so?

RP: COVID19 has been something that nobody expected. It has made business and brands that might not have expected to grow during a pandemic vital and more important than ever. The new ‘normal’ and work from home has made customers realize just how important a robust and stable network, infrastructure backbone and video connections are in their homes. Integrators have a huge opportunity as the pandemic continues, from current customer system upgrades to designing state of the art infrastructure for new homes.

 

MJ: What can you do for the  integrators reading this…ie, what kind of dealer support do you offer?

RP: Cleerline doesn’t expect our dealers to become experts in fiber optics overnight. This is still very new to most dealers. We encourage all of our dealers to use our staff for support, whether it be in system design, product specifications, or anything else pertaining to fiber optics. We have a fantastic technical support team, and everyone is always willing to help.

Most of our team can help with infrastructure design, manufacturer recommendations for companies supporting fiber optic connectivity, or just general questions. We have developed a ton of resources from pre-recorded webinars, training and installation videos, FAQs and much more that can be accessed at www.cleerlinefiber.com, and we are starting to get things into the HTSA Vault.

 

MJ: Anything else you would like to share with our readers?

RP: Cleerline wants to be a resource for our customers. We have found that once companies start implementing fiber into projects, they understand it’s not as complicated or as scary as they thought. Companies have found that projects utilizing fiber are much more stable and allow customers to obtain uncompressed video signals and faster networks with fewer service calls, resulting in happier customers.
