If you’re heading to CEDIA, don’t forget to get away from the convention center and get yourself a nice meal. This year I’m recommending some low-key, neighborhood restaurants that the locals flock to – if you’re a dealer and you’re bringing your crew with you and don’t want to break the bank, these spots will work perfectly (yes, I know, the sushi joint ain’t cheap!).

Here are a few local joints you might want to check out:

Et Voilà! | 3015 Adams Avenue, #103 | 619-209-7759 | Visit Website

This is an unassuming neighborhood bistro for French classics in a comfortable dining room.

Jaynes Gastropub | 4677 30th Street | 619-563-1011 | Visit Website

A well-executed gastropub with a modern take on British gastropub fare. Nice cocktails!

Tiger!Tiger! | 3025 El Cajon Blvd | 619-487-0401 | Visit Website

A great craft beer focused joint without undue fuss or drama. The food actually is just as good as the beer!

Sushi Tadokoro | 2244 San Diego Avenue | 619-297-0298 | Visit Website

Old Town’s traditional Japanese seafood choice for sushi lovers, featuring nigiri sushi. Reservations a must.

Urban Solace | 3823 30th Street | 619-295-6464 | Visit Website

American comfort food in a low-key, neighborhood setting.
