National Geographic magazine announced the winners of its annual photo contest. The grand-prize is an aerial image of thousands of recalled Volkswagen and Audi automobiles sitting idle in the Mojave Desert. If you’re into photography or just want to peruse some eye candy, here’s the link.
The categories include places, wildlife and people. The Blue Pond in Biei-cho, Hokkaido Japan is as alluring of an image as you’ll find, lit up with a strobe for a moment to capture the snowflakes of the frozen landscape.
I grew up reading National Geographic every week and have always appreciated their photography. I’m sure many of you did the same. If you’re moved by the images, consider making a small donation or support their streaming service. Every little bit helps.
