HTA Hits the Streets of NY

The Home Technology Association helps homeowners and home design and building professionals find qualified home technology installation firms for their home construction projects. The Home Technology Association Certification system is the first and only industry standard of excellence for home technology installation companies. In an industry that has no barriers to entry, the HTA has created a rigorous set of standards for home technology companies to adhere to. The firms that meet the 60+ points of evaluation criteria are granted certification status. Once HTA Certified, these firms must commit to maintaining the high standards of HTA Certification or risk losing certification.

The HTA Customer Experience Summit was held at Gilmore’s Sound Advice on 11th street in NYC was a gathering of some of the top NY Metro Technology Designers. The summit’s goals were met with excellent content and presentations from Kaleidescape, Onevision, Crestron, AudioControl, Savant and Access Networks and of course great food and drinks that lead to awesome networking opportunities.

The presentations from the vendors were short and to the point and were a combination of short product introductions and story telling. I really liked the presentation from Ben Pearson. A trainer for the Montage, an amazing luxury hospitality brand with a loyal client base, Ben teaches HTA Certified members how to get their staff to deliver the ultimate concierge customer experience and deliver high-touch customer service to inspire client loyalty. Ben is basically a traveling Butler to the rich and famous. Very cool!

Home Technology Association’s corporate goal is to offer a tiered certification system for technology integrators and create better consumer experiences. The pitch is, if your integrators are certified you will win more projects, raise the average ticket price, and build better industry relationships with builders, architects and interior designers. The last part is certainty in line with our goals at Technology Designer Magazine.

Ed Gilmore was a fantastic host and a big shout out to the entire HTA team.
